aviation. Avionics Test Engineering has an opportunity for a
Principal Electrical Engineer to design innovative hardware and
software test solutions for an array of Collins Aerospace Display
products. The primary responsibility of this position is to develop
test software and hardware for aviation products. The Collins
Aerospace Avionics Test Engineering organization is a global
engineering team responsible for the design, development, and
maintenance of manufacturing test solutions. These solutions
support our $5B Avionics strategic business and external customers,
including armed services and airlines, both domestic and
international. In this role, you’ll tackle complex technical
challenges across a variety of hardware and software systems ,
including commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components such as switch
systems, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies. You’ll
lead hands-on engineering troubleshooting activities with both
modern and legacy technologies, ensuring test solutions meet the
highest standards of performance and reliability. You’ll
collaborate with engineers and leaders across global locations,
sharing expertise and contributing to projects that impact
customers worldwide. This highly collaborative role offers exposure
to advanced aerospace systems, mentorship opportunities, and a
pathway to future leadership roles. As a senior member of the team,
you’ll contribute to technical strategy and play a key role in
shaping the future of Avionics Test Engineering at Collins
Aerospace. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Design, code, test, integrate and
document production test software for aviation displays products
automated test solutions deployed in Collins production facilities,
service centers, as well as external customers such as airlines.
Design test hardware including fixtures, cabling, printed wiring
boards, and circuit cards Develop, update, and maintain software
using programming languages such as C#/.NET, NI TestStand, NI
LabVIEW, as well as legacy tools like TurboAtlas. Develop and
support of Environmental Stress Screening (thermal and vibration)
test equipment and software suites. Develop engineering estimates
for complex tasks Perform engineering requirements capture,
analysis and creation for complex designs Lead test software design
reviews and ensure the generation of appropriate design
documentation Prepare and present project and/or technical
information to peers, internal management and customers Mentor
emerging engineers by providing technical guidance and fostering
skill development. QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE: Typically requires
a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree
in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence
of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience. OR In absence of a
degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required. 8 years’
experience programming with C#/C++ 8 years’ experience with test
equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Digital Multimeters, Signal
Generators, etc. QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER: Fundamental knowledge of
digital electronics. Problem-solving skills with ability to
proactively identify alternate solutions to overcome difficult
technical challenges. Effective communication and interpersonal
skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
to achieve operational goals. Detail-oriented and capable of

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work
primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance
employees, as they are essential to the development of our

204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate
representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several
