Job Description:

The PositionReporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager is accountable for safe, efficient and cost-effective operations to ensure achievement of company objectives as well as consistent achievement of customer product quality and on-time delivery. He/she will provide leadership, direction, decision making, and stability for all plant employees including , maintenance, production, process, warehousing & shipping, quality control, inventory control and will work extensively and collaboratively with the engineering and order processing teams in CPM Americas locations.This position is responsible for the planning and direction of all manufacturing activities for the assembly of machinery at the Waterloo and Cedar Falls facilities. Duties and responsibilities will include supervision and coordination of activities and personnel.Any and all other duties that may be required or assigned by the company.Duties & Responsibilities:* Work collaboratively and assure plant operations complies with all regulatory requirements; ensure a vigorous Safety Program is in place and executed.* Develop plant objectives, priorities and operating plan targets. Deploy these goals and objectives to staff; manage team activities to achieve goals.* Develop the plant annual budget and support the plan with key metrics and planned improvement actions.* Continuously improve plant operations and facility, including safety, quality, throughput, productivity, and inventory management.* Consistently and proactively promote a company culture that embraces Integrity, Teamwork, Customer Focus, Learning and Teaching, Innovation, Accountability, Respect, Inclusiveness & Perseverance.* Establish and implement an effective Plant Communication plan to ensure all employees are current on key initiatives and have an opportunity to ask questions.* Actively participate in the recruiting process for new employees and implement actions to reduce employee turnover.Production * Meet all established schedules, budgets, and objectives * Maintain the highest quality and on time delivery of products * Monthly planning and budgeting * Manage production overtime * Utilize quality data as part of the continuous improvement program* Oversee improvement and training programsEngineering & Maintenance * Utilize technical expertise, skill set and best practices to generate new ideas and capital projects to improve safety, quality, productivity and capacity.* Ensure an effective preventative maintenance program is developed and executed. Warehouse/Shipping* Establish key fulfillment and productivity metrics including OTIF (on time in full) and achieve those metrics* Effectively monitor and manage age of inventory to disposition aging and obsolete inventory in a timely manner.Process Control* Ensure compliance with standards, coordinate audits and required meetings* Monitor the production process daily to ensure products are produced in the most efficient manner and rework & scrap is minimized* Disposition non-conforming material and work with appropriate department to prevent reoccurrenceQuality Control* Implement an effective QA/QC program that drives continuous improvement in the plant* Vigorously investigate customer complaints and respond in a prompt manner with communication and appropriate Corrective ActionsInventory Control* Continuously monitor and manage raw material, WIP and finished goods inventory levels. * Develop inventory accuracy metrics and meet established targets.* Ensure that the S&OP and ERP systems effectively supports OTIF and Working Capital targets Labor relations * Implement actions to increase employee engagement.The Qualifications:* Minimum 10 years of inventory control, planning and plant production management experience in related industry * Bachelors technical degree such as Industrial Tech is preferred but candidates with deep technical experience and completion of relevant manufacturing management training programs will be considered.The Person: The successful candidate must be a strong cultural fit and bring high level of ethical, intellectual, professional and personal values that complement the team and Company culture.* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and successfully manage staff at all levels to achieve plant goals.
