Job DescriptionPOSITION INFORMATION The Sales and Operations
Training Manager is responsible for developing, implementing,
conducting and coordinating a comprehensive training program by
studying sales and marketing strategic plans and determining
training needs to maximize the logistics department's
effectiveness. BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designs training courses and programs necessary for logistics
sales and operations new hires by identifying training needs to
meet department performance standards
- Builds, develops, and executes a training program including
materials, schedule, and subject matter experts needed to provide
position and company knowledge and gather feedback to track
progress towards learning objectives
- Identifies, selects, and manages external training sources and
schedules subject matter experts necessary to deliver required
training
- Monitors training program to identify new approaches and
techniques and determines changes needed and modifies to improve
the training program
- Maintains training records
- Conducts training presentations through group and one-on-one
settings to achieve training objectives.
- Mentors new hires by answering questions, comments, and
concerns about the job to get employees familiar with company
policies and procedures
- Determines if the new hire meets company requirements after the
training period by evaluating the new hire against key indicators
to establish probability of success in the position
- Identifies key indicators that denote employee is meeting
expectations using core competency checklists
- Makes recommendation to management on employment status

- Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal
business hours and infrequent travel may be required
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have 2 years of training or coaching experience usually
gained through 2-4 years of training and/or related experience
- Must have the ability to operate basic office machines include
telephone, 10-key, and personal computer
- Must have valid driver's license as needed to meet the travel
requirements of the job
- Must be comfortable speaking in front of groups as well as
working with individuals one-on-one
- Must be an excellent motivator and great listener with a
positive attitude
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
required
- Excellent communication skills (written, listening and
verbal)
- Must be self-motivated, able to multi-task and work
independently
- Must be a team player, amenable to a variety of work
projects
- Must be analytical with the ability to apply data
- Must be proficient in responding to internal and external
customer situations, responding to customer needs as required
- Must be able to both think creatively and provide creative
contributions to projects
- Willing and able to travel as required, including overnight
travel WORKING CONDITIONS This job operates in a professional
office environment. This role routinely uses standard office
equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets
and fax machines. The physical demands described here are
representative of those that must be met by an employee to
successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While
performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role;
however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to
lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as
