Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ED - Emergency Department - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel /n Job Description/n American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with Epic experience and strong emergency medicine skills for all age groups. /n /n Responsibilities/n - Position is in a hospital Emergency Department with 31 beds - Patient population ranges from infants to geriatric patients - Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 4:1 and may be 5:1 - Responsible for administering all medication drips - Unit uses the Epic EMR system, and prior Epic experience is required - Tele strip reading is part of daily responsibilities - Scrubs must be solid black or grey - Travelers are required to work 2 out of the 3 main 2025 winter holidays: Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving - Only 1 day of requested time off is allowed between 11/26/25-11/30/25 and 12/23/25-1/2/26 for all travelers - No first-time travelers will be considered for this assignment - MOAB certification may be completed during onboarding - Team provides care for diverse emergencies and utilizes advanced medication administration protocols /n /n Requirements/n - Active Iowa or compact RN license required - Minimum of 2 years of recent emergency medicine experience - Must have completed at least one prior travel RN contract within the last 12 months - Experience with all age groups from infants to geriatrics required - Certification in ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, NRP, PALS required; MOAB can be obtained during onboarding - All certifications must be active at the time of consideration - Proficiency with tele strip reading and medication drips required - References from a supervisor within the past 2 years required - Epic experience required - Candidates must live more than 50 miles from Waterloo, IA /n Benefits/n - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts /n American Traveler Job ID P-612763.
