Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med Surg/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Med Surg, Tele, or Med/Tele License: Iowa Nursing License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, MOAB Must-Have: 2 years of Med Surg, Tele, or Med/Tele experience Ability to read EKG/ECG and perform related duties Experience with EPIC EMR Description: As a member of the interdisciplinary team, you will contribute professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients through the application of the nursing process. You will be responsible for monitoring patient health and providing necessary interventions. The unit has a bed size of 130 and a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6. You may be required to float to different areas, including Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, and some post-procedural areas. You will be working with drips such as heparin, insulin, lasix, amiodarone, diltiazem, and digoxin. You must be able to read EKG strips and recognize dysrhythmias with confidence. The role involves providing care on weekends and rotating during holidays as needed.
