Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Operating Room (OR) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday - Friday Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: - Minimum of 2 years of current operating room experience required. - Strong proficiency in cardiac, vascular, and thoracic areas including general surgery required. - Experience in da Vinci robotics, pediatrics, trauma, neurology, orthopedics (primarily trauma), gynecology, urology, transplants, plastics, and ear, nose, throat procedures highly preferred. - Trauma Level I experience highly preferred. License: - Active Iowa or compact/multistate license required. Certifications: - BLS (AHA) required. Must-Have: - Skills checklist specific to Operating Room Nurse required. - Professional reference from charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, or CNO within the last 24 months preferred. - Driver's license required. Description: We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse. You will be responsible for circulating and scrubbing in the operating room. The average caseload includes 35-50 cases per day. You should facilitate turnovers in less than 20 minutes. Scrubs will be provided. The unit comprises 16 operating suites, with 12-14 routinely in use. As a Level 1 trauma center, the facility reserves space for trauma cases. You will have the opportunity to work with advanced equipment, including three da Vinci robots and Stealth technology for neuro navigation. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing care across various specialties, including cardiac, neuro, orthopedic trauma, robotics, gynecology, urology, general, pediatrics, and transplants. Flexibility to float across campuses will be required. On-call duties include coverage from Friday evening until Monday morning. Experience with electronic medical record systems, particularly EPIC, within the last three years is required.
