Job Description Join our team as a Medical Assistant, where you
will provide general medical care and select patient care tasks.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other multidisciplinary
team members to deliver exceptional patient care. Responsibilities
Assist providers during patient visits by escorting patients to
exam rooms, conducting intake interviews, obtaining vital signs,
and documenting information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Maintain exam rooms by ensuring they are clean, organized, and
adequately stocked with required supplies and equipment. Perform
approved clinical tests, including blood glucose monitoring, rapid
HIV testing, influenza testing, and strep cultures. Safely operate
clinical equipment and ensure specimens are properly labeled.
Monitor patients for changes in condition and promptly document and
report findings to the appropriate provider. Administer medications
per provider orders, adhering to the six rights of medication
administration; intravenous therapy is not included. Assist with
clinical procedures by providing pre- and post-procedure care,
participating in Time Outs, and supporting providers during
procedures. Follow standard precautions for all patients to ensure
infection control, utilizing medical and surgical aseptic
techniques as required. Complete follow-up phone calls as directed
by providers and route calls requiring clinical assessment to a
qualified provider. Essential Skills Strong understanding of
medical assisting and patient care. Ability to room patients and
schedule appointments efficiently. Proficiency in medical
terminology and insurance verification. Experience with Athena and
appointment scheduling. Valid CMA license in the state of Iowa.
Additional Skills & Qualifications 1-3 years of experience as a CMA
in a clinical setting is a plus. Job Type & Location This is a
Permanent position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $68640.00/yr. 4
