Time Days - No weekends or on call.Under the supervision of the
healthcare provider, the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is
responsible for providing patient care that promotes safety and
well-being. The CMA will perform preliminary physical assessments,
including vital signs and other measurements as directed by
clinical protocols, while ensuring a positive patient
experience.Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general patient care in accordance with established
standards and procedures.
- Greet and prepare patients for examination by the healthcare
provider.
- Measure and record vital signs (e.g., blood pressure,
temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight), drug allergies,
medications, and current health concerns.
- Draw blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory
analysis as required.
- Administer medications and vaccines as ordered (oral,
injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, inhalant).
- Perform routine tests, including but not limited to EKGs, as
needed.
- Schedule and coordinate diagnostic tests, following up to
ensure completion.
- Communicate with patients regarding test results and care plans
as directed by the provider.
- Maintain and sterilize medical instruments and equipment,
keeping patient exam rooms stocked and orderly.
- Dispose of contaminated items according to safety
protocols.
- Document patient care, including treatment plans and test
results, in the medical record.
- Escalate non-routine issues or concerns to the practice manager
or healthcare provider.
- Complete safety checklists and quality control procedures as
required.
- Ensure patient privacy and safety are maintained at all
times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the practice manager, MA
Lead, or healthcare provider.Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical
Assistant (RMA) certification required.
- Medication Aide certification (if applicable) or completion of
a 40-hour Medication Aide course.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for the Healthcare
Provider, or obtained within 3 months of hire.
- Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training,
specific to the population served, within 3 months of hire.
- Specialized training, such as Non-Certified Radiologic
Technician (NCT) is preferred not required.Our Commitment to
