Waterloo, IA as a Production Supervisor in their melt/pouring
operations department!Location: Waterloo, IADuration -of Role: - 1+
yearsPay: -$36.65/ hourlyHours: Variable shift. Must be open to
working 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts. Overtime is likely either on
weekends or extended weekday hours.Visa sponsorship is not
available, now or in the near future, for this position. -DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform ductile and gray iron recipe
and chemistry calculationsManage the iron ---ow from melting iron
in coreless furnaces, holding iron in induction furnaces and then
pouring into molds via vertical channel pouring furnaces or pouring
carsExecute strategic department initiatives, weekly schedules, and
daily plansManage employees and keep them accountable for their
actions regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery and E---ciencyREQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in Metal Casting,
Business, or similar discipline, or four or more years relevant
work experienceExcellent communicator, who thrives on solving
problems and working in a team environmentExperience with, or
supporting, shop ---oor manufacturing and/or warehouse operation -
Demonstrated team leadership skillsExperience communicating across
functions (such as: supply management, engineering, operations, and
human resources)Ability and ---exibility to work across variable
shifts based on production needsDESIRED:
Experience with continuous
improvement pay plans (CIPP)Experience with wage/union employee
policies, practices, procedures, and work rulesExperience in
leadership or supervision of a union workforceWorking knowledge of
the CI continual improvement process and 5S3 or more years of
experience in a coreless melt furnace, preferably with medium
frequency furnacesExperience in induction furnacesExperience with
refractory related practices in an iron foundryChemistry control
experience in a gray and ductile iron foundryAdditional
notes:Position will start onsite on the first day. Business casual
dress code. Safety shoes with internal metatarsal protection
required for first day. There is a possibility the person will
drive their personal vehicle to other Waterloo locations for
meetings. May also drive a Deere owned Gator on the shop floor
